- Dr Miguel M. Torres
Miguel M. Torres, PhD in Economics, is a Lecturer in International Business at Kent Business School (KBS). He is an INSOL International and Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow. His research has received various awards, including the 32nd CIMar 2025 Conference Best Paper Award for "Driving Sustainable Value Creation in International SMEs: The Impact of Transformative Marketing." In 2017, he was honoured with the Recognition for Outstanding Contribution as an Academy of International Business Conference Program Co-Track Chair. Previously, he was awarded a Marie S. Curie Research Fellowship in 2015, nominated for the Buckley & Casson PhD Dissertation Award in 2014, and received the Danny Van Den Bulcke Doctoral Prize in 2011.
Dr Miguel M. Torres' research focuses on the intersection of international business, public policy, and strategic management, with a specific emphasis on multinational management models, corporate political risk, and negotiation strategies utilising multilevel models. His work has been published in the Public Administration, International Business Review, Journal of Business Ethics, Multinational Business Review, Ecological Economics, Gender, Work & Organization, Theory, Culture & Society, Critical Perspectives in International Business, International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Journal of Economic Methodology, International Insolvency Review, International Journal of Qualitative Methods, PLOS One, Arbitration
International, Revista de Administração de Empresas (RAE) and AIB Insights. He co-edited the books "Dead Firms: Causes and Effects of Cross-Border Corporate Insolvency" (Emerald, 2017) and "Global Perspectives on Climate Change, Inequality, and Multinational Corporations" (Springer, 2025).
Dr Miguel M. Torres teaches at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His teaching interests include Strategic Management, Cross-Cultural Management and International Business.
