Iraklis Apergis

About

Iraklis Apergis is a Lecturer in Finance at Kent Business School and Director of Studies at the Department for Leadership and Management. He has been part of the Kent Business School teaching team since 2017 and was appointed to a lectureship in 2020. His educational background includes a BSc in Statistics and Actuarial Science from the University of Piraeus, and an MSc in Statistics from Athens University of Economics and Business. He is completed his PhD at the University of Kent in 2022.

Research interests

Iraklis' research interests are in the fields of financial statistical modelling and forecasting. His latest works are focused on: forecasting the equity premium; portfolio returns; stress testing, and energy economics.

Teaching

Iraklis' teaching interests are at undergraduate level, covering topics including:
  • financial modelling
  • data analysis
  • portfolio management
  • fixed income markets
  • statistical/financial programming with software such as Excel & R.
