Privacy Statement

This Privacy Statement outlines how the University of Kent ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects personal data submitted as part of the Fee Mak Radio Presenter Masterclass Competition ("the Competition").

1. What Data We Collect

By entering the Competition, participants and their parents or guardians provide us with the following personal data:

  • Name of entrant
  • Age confirmation (must be between 14-18 years old)
  • A 30-second video or audio recording
  • Contact details (email and mobile number)
  • Parental/guardian consent confirmation
  • Confirmation of ability to attend the masterclass at the University of Kent’s Canterbury Campus

2. How We Use Your Data

We will use the collected data to:

  • Process and assess Competition entries
  • Contact shortlisted and winning entrants
  • Facilitate arrangements for the masterclass session on 6th March 2024

3. Data Storage and Protection

All personal data will be securely stored and only accessed by authorised personnel involved in the Competition. We will not share this information with third parties, except as required by law.

4. Data Retention

We will retain personal data only for as long as necessary to administer the Competition and ensure the event's successful delivery. All submitted data will be deleted within 30 days following the conclusion of the masterclass.

5. Rights of Participants

Participants and their guardians have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal data we hold
  • Request correction or deletion of personal data
  • Withdraw consent at any time, which may affect eligibility to participate in the Competition
