Among Carl’s achievements, he has also:

  • Designed and ran cell-based pharmacology screens identifying molecules for clinical testing
  • Planned & executed biology strategy during a pre-clinical to first-in-human drug discovery programme
  • Addressed complex issues through innovative development of translational biomarker assays to inform target / compound selection, validation and progression to the clinic
  • Compiled the preclinical biology sections of IB, pre-IND and IND documentation
  • Validated an antiviral qPCR assays platform technology then used it to process clinical samples to deliver a complete QC / QA compliant data package
  • Managed multiple concurrent activities to deliver, analyse and critique key decision making data within demanding timelines working to GCP / GLP standards
  • Influenced cross functional project team decisions through well informed scientific critique to progress candidates to clinical development
