What time do the Postgraduate events start and finish?

The Postgraduate Open Event in December 2019 at the Canterbury campus starts at 5pm and finishes at 7pm.

All subject areas will have a stand in Darwin College Conference Suite, and you will be able to speak to academic staff, find out more about funding and our support services. All subject stands, academic staff and support services will be available until the event finishes.

Do I have to come for the whole event?

No. The event is very informal, and allows you to plan your time as you wish.

Key activities:

  • Postgraduate study at Kent - talk by the Dean of the Graduate School
  • Kent Scholarships talk
  • Visit student accommodation

Once you have booked, you will receive an event ticket by email. Once ready, the programme for the event will be available on our website

Are the Postgraduate events all on one site?

Postgraduate events at Canterbury

Yes. The campus is self contained, so all the facilities, including accommodation, are on one site. The campus is large (over 300 acres) so we recommend comfortable footwear!

Postgraduate events at Medway

No. The campus has two teaching sites, Pembroke and The Historic Dockyard Chatham. Pembroke has teaching facilities for Computing/Business Information Technology, Criminal Justice and Criminology, Journalism, Pharmacy and Pharmacology, Social Work, Social Sciences, and Sport and Exercise Sciences. We have specialist facilities for the Centre for Music and Audio Technology and Kent Business School at the Historic Dockyard Chatham (10-15 minutes' walk from Pembroke).

The School of Sports and Exercise Sciences also has clinics, treatment rooms and other facilities at Medway Park (ten minutes from Pembroke). Our student accommodation, Liberty Quays, is approximately ten minutes' walk from Pembroke.

Is there an event programme?

Once you have booked, you will receive an event ticket by email. Once ready, the programme for the event will be available on our website

There will be copies available on the day but, in order to help with your planning, we recommend you have a read through it before you arrive.

I have a disability - do I need to let you know?

If you or any of your party have a disability or require extra support or facilities at the events we are happy to help wherever we can. Please contact us on +44 (0) 1227 768896.

Staff from the Student Support service will be available on the day and you'll be able to have a chat with them about the support available at Kent.

What accessible facilities do you have?

We're well equipped to deal with a wide range of access and support needs on both of our campuses. There is accessible parking at both the Canterbury and Medway campuses, and both sites feature fully equipped and well specified toilets.

If you would like to find out more, please contact us before the event on +44 (0) 1227 768896 and we'll be happy to help.

What if I can't attend a Postgraduate event? Will I have another chance to visit?

While we would recommend attending an event wherever possible, there are other opportunities for you to visit the University:

General Open Days

Our General Open Days are for anyone who may be interested in higher education at either undergraduate or postgraduate level. We hold events in the summer and in the autumn.

Campus tours

We offer guided campus tours at the Canterbury and Medway campuses throughout the year and you can book a place online

Who can I contact if I have any other questions?

You can call our Information and Admissions team on +44 (0) 1227 768896 if you have any questions regarding our Open Events.
