Language Express 20 week courses at Medway

Open to anyone who wants to learn a new language - no need to be a University of Kent student

The Centre for English and World Languages offers 20 Language Express courses in French and Japanese starting in October at our Medway campus. Please see below for further information:


We offer Beginners French and Beginners and Post-Beginners Japanese at our Medway campus

Course Fees:

Language Express 20 at Medway

The 2018/19 fees for Language Express 20 at Medway are as follows: 

University of Kent Medway students £114 (The Medway student fees are subsidised by the Medway Dean. Please note that this is limited to 35 students.)
CCCU and University of Greenwich students £228
University of Kent, CCCU and University of Greenwich staff £259

N.B. The course fee excludes the cost of the textbook used in the course. Anyone who takes this course will be expected to purchase the core textbook at a cost of £15-£30.

Staff Funding

Staff are entitled to apply for 50% funding towards the cost of the classes, whether or not the language studied is relevant to their role and work at the University. Or alternatively, Staff can be awarded the full 100% funding where they can demonstrate that the language studied is directly linked to their current role and work at the University. Language Express - Terms and Conditions

Deadline for registrations:

The deadline for Language Express applications will be on Friday of the week prior to the course commencement date.


Notification of your withdrawal from Language Express must be sent by email to the Language Express mailbox languageexpress@kent.ac.uk by Friday, 5.00 pm on the second week of your class. Providing we receive notification of your withdrawal by this deadline you will receive a full refund.

MyCanterbury Promotion:

In order to qualify for the discounted price for the Language Express course, you must have created an account with MyCanterbury and claimed the valid discount code either through the app or the MyCanterbury website. The discount code must then be entered, when prompted, when purchasing the chosen Language Express course via our Online Store. The discount code will only be accepted during the date range listed on the MyCanterbury website. Discount codes will not be accepted after this time. We reserve the right to withdraw this promotion at any given time.
