Hut 8

Located in Turing College Hub on the Canterbury Campus, Hut 8 is your go-to spot for affordable, delicious fast food. From freshly made pizzas to hot chicken, plus pool tables and comfy sofas, it’s the perfect place to eat, relax, and unwind.

Newly refurbished December 2025

Hut 8 had a refurbishment in December 2025 which delivers a refreshed and more student-friendly environment, with an updated modernised design, including an improved layout for socialising, study breaks, and group meetups.

Alongside the newly refurbished space, we are excited to introduce the Tuk Tuk Coffee Cart, serving a range of pastries and grab-and-go favourites. The Tuk Tuk will also proudly serve Social Impact Coffee, a speciality roastery with a big idea: that every cup of coffee shouldn’t just taste good but should do good. 65% of their profits go directly into local community causes.

Whether you’re popping by for breakfast before a lecture or grabbing lunch with friends, the refreshed Hut 8 has something for everyone.

Did you know?

Hut 8 is named after the famous Hut 8 at Bletchley Park, where Alan Turing - one of the most important codebreakers during World War II - worked to crack the German Enigma codes. This helped the Allies win the war and changed history.
