Dr Janice Malcolm

Profile
I am the Director of the Centre for the Study of Higher Education, and Senior Lecturer in Higher Education and Academic Practice. My main research focus is on academic work and the construction and practice of academic and disciplinary identities. I’m particularly interested in the nature of the academic workplace, and the impact of policy and regulation on disciplinary practice.
I contribute to the PGCHE as a tutor and module convenor, and offer supervision on the new PhD in Higher Education. I also advise on the development of academic practice with both new and experienced academics, particularly in the Social Sciences Faculty.
