Templeman Library opening hours
The Library is open to all University of Kent students and staff. Visitors can use the collections for reference purposes. To enquire about access please ask at the Welcome Desk on Level 1 Centre or telephone (01227 82) 4777.
Turnstiles
Before 9pm: no access card is required to enter the Library. Users do not need to swipe their cards to pass through the turnstiles. It is recommend that students carry their KentOne cards at all times they are in the Library.
After 9pm: Kent students and staff need to swipe their KentOne cards to access the Library. There is no access without a KentOne card and no visitor access after 9pm.
Wheelchair users: a platform lift gives access to Level 1 Centre from both the front and the rear entrance of the Library. Once arrived at Level 1 Centre you can activate the self service entrance gate with your KentOne card; alternatively, Welcome Desk staff can activate the gate for you.
Regulations related to Library access
The Library regulations state:
4. (i) Academic and related staff including teaching staff, undergraduates and postgraduates must carry a valid KentOne card which must be shown to Information Services staff when requested.
(ii) External users and visitors must carry a valid photo ID which must
be shown to Information Services staff when requested.

The Library is open until 3am throughout the week during the exam period.
A free late night bus service from the Templeman Library into Canterbury runs from from Monday 22 April - Tuesday 31 May. View the late night bus flyer for full information.
