Going abroad

Study and work placements outside the UK

Kent is known as the UK’s European university and has a long history of sending students abroad on study or work placements. In addition to an internationally recognised degree from Kent and an outstanding student experience in the UK, students who choose to work or study abroad as part of their Kent degree enjoy many added benefits.

If you are looking to come to Kent for less than a year as part of your course at another university, please see our international student pages.

Why study or work abroad?

You could enjoy the added benefits of an enhanced CV, a broadened academic and social experience, and the acquisition of wide-ranging new skills.

Student testimonials

Every year Kent students from across the faculties take study and work abroad options and find it a life-changing experience. Let them tell you about it in their own words.

Talking Cultures

Talking Cultures refers to a series of training and consultancy activities devised by the Centre for English and World Languages. It involves the development of intercultural awareness, enabling outbound Study Abroad students to reflect on the skills needed both before they depart and during their time abroad, and how they might subsequently reframe and reflect on those skills on their return.
