Postgraduate courses

Our programmes offer you specialist knowledge in your chosen area of social science and an advanced level of skills. Some programmes can be taken at Diploma or Certificate level before proceeding to Master’s level. Working professionals may be interested in the programmes we offer via distance learning. 

All our postgraduate taught (PGT) and postgraduate research (PGR) students have access to office space with computing facilities. PhD students may have the opportunity to teach part-time within the School. 

*New* for 2022: SSPSSR New Generation Research Scholarships

Three SSPSSR New Generation Research Scholarships are available for UK or International PhD applicants. You can study full-time or part-time, but you must start your PhD in September 2022. One of the scholarships is reserved specifically for UK applicants of Black or mixed-Black heritage. Apply by 12.00, Friday 18 March 2022.
