Kent Law School LLM by Research Global Welcome Scholarship (Canterbury), September 2025 entry

If you receive an offer and pay your tuition fee deposit on or before 31 July 2025, you'll get a discount of £3,000 from your tuition fee, for one year of study.

You must meet all of the following conditions:

• Hold a valid passport demonstrating nationality of a country receiving ODA funding from the OECD. A full list of countries can be found on the OECD website
• Be classified by the University of Kent as an overseas student for tuition fee purposes
• Be fully self-funded
• Have applied for the Kent LLM by Research at the Canterbury Campus of the University of Kent for entry in September 2025
• Have accepted an offer of a place on the LLM by Research by the scholarship application deadline
• Have paid your tuition fee deposit by the scholarship application deadline

POINTS TO NOTE:

• You must meet the academic conditions of entry/be accepted for entry for the award to be given
• This award cannot be held in conjunction with other awards and scholarships offered by Kent Law School. Please contact us for further information.
• Graduates of the University of Kent are eligible for the award if they meet the stated conditions
• Where students are required to continue their studies beyond their original period of registration, the award will only be provided for that original period of registration

The Law School has established funds to support overseas students who study an LLM by Research at the University’s Canterbury campus. Overseas students from any country which receives Official Development Assistance (ODA) from the OECD who undertake a full-time, LLM by Research at the Canterbury Campus of the University of Kent, are eligible for this award. The list of countries is extensive, and among the countries included are Thailand, India, Nigeria, Kenya, Brazil, China, Turkey and many more.

This award provides a tuition fee discount of £3,000 to entrants who meet the eligibility conditions stated above.

If you have received your offer to study on the LLM by Research programme and have not yet paid the international deposit, you can pay via our online store, which will also give you the option to pay via Flywire:

• Applicants new to Kent

• Applicants who are currently studying at Kent

To help verify the deposit and confirm the scholarship, we recommend that applicants pay via a non-bank transfer option. Once you’ve done this, no further action is required. However, if you do pay via bank transfer you will need to email your proof of payment to international@kent.ac.uk order to be eligible for the scholarship.
