Terms and Conditions

3.0         The Kent Graduate Scholarship recipients must satisfy the Eligibility Criteria and the Terms and Conditions.

3.1         Kent Graduate Scholarship recipients are required to be an alumnus of the University of Kent, or will be, at the time of entry onto the programme for which they are seeking eligibility for the scholarship.

3.2         The Kent Graduate Scholarship is applied at the point of offer to the qualifying programme in the form of a reduction in tuition fees. No cash alternative will be offered. It is non- transferable. The Kent Graduate Scholarship will be applied automatically, so there is no need for the alumnus to apply for the scholarship.

3.3         Alumni in receipt of a partial tuition fee award from an outside organisation or another University of Kent award may not hold the award(s) in conjunction with The Kent Graduate Scholarship. We are unable to offer The Kent Graduate Scholarship to anyone in receipt of a full tuition scholarship from a third party. Alumni are required to advise us if their financial situation changes and they are subsequently granted a full scholarship from another source.

3.4         Alumni in receipt of a Government or Federal Loan will be entitled to the Alumni Discount, and this will not be considered as payment of fees by a third party.

3.5         Alumni studying on a full-time, part-time, or flexible basis are entitled to The Kent Graduate Scholarship.

3.6         An alumnus qualifies for The Kent Graduate Scholarship only once in respect of a previous period of study.

3.7         The Kent Graduate Scholarship is not transferable and may not be awarded if a student chooses to defer entry to a different start date in a different academic year, or transfers to a non‑eligible course.

3.8         If a student withdraws before enrolment, before payment, or where fees have been fully refunded, The Kent Graduate Scholarship may still be available for future study if eligibility criteria are met. Students taking an approved temporary leave of absence will retain the discount on return, provided they do not repeat any part or year of their course. As per the University Terms and Conditions, periods of intermission would not be granted for more than 12 months. Where a student withdraws with outstanding tuition fee debt, the University of Kent may withdraw the scholarship at its discretion. Please note that any discount applied to course fees is subject to pro-rata adjustment if you withdraw from the course before completion. In such circumstances, the discount may be recalculated based on the actual period of study undertaken, and any outstanding balance may become payable.

3.9         For modular programmes, applicants must have completed their qualifying University of Kent award before starting their first module. Where eligible, the discount applies to the full course fee, not per module.

3.10         In being of receipt of a University of Kent Graduate Scholarship the alumnus is deemed to have agreed to the above Terms and Conditions. Any queries about The Kent Graduate Scholarship should be addressed to scholarships@kent.ac.uk
