Students focus on distractions in end of year show

Press Office

MA Curating students from the School of Arts are presenting their new exhibition entitled Catching Flies at the University’s Studio 3 Gallery in its Jarman Building at the Canterbury campus.

The exhibition, which will run from Friday 7 June until Wednesday 31 July, is free to visit and open to all Monday to Friday, 09.00-17.00.

It will include an array of artwork from historic prints to video and social media art and mixed media canvases. The artists participating range from the highly-regarded Benedict Drew and Ross Sinclair to graduating students from the Kent’s School of Music and Fine Art, as well as students from other art schools throughout the South East area.

The theme of the exhibition is distractions, with each artwork exploring different narratives surrounding the subject, whether it is in regards to the distractions we face through social media, the use of art as a distraction from reality or simply a musician being distracted from practice.
