Academic from School of English will be a guest editor on BBC Radio 5 Live on Tuesday October 23.

Dr Cregan-Reid will be on air from 13.00 – 14.00 on Nihal’s Afternoon Edition show. The slot comes as Dr Cregan-Reid has just published a new book called Primate Change: How the World We Made is Remaking Us examining how our lifestyles and jobs are becoming increasingly incompatible with leading a healthy life.

The show will feature an interview with Dr Cregan-Reid on this topic and his book, and also feature a discussion with Professor Chris Hammond from King’s College Hospital, a specialist in short-sightedness, a disease driven strongly by the environment in which one lives and works.

The show will also talk to people who have deliberately changed from sedentary jobs into more active ones and will encourage input from the public during the broadcast too with a live phone-in.

Dr Cregan-Reid said: ‘The show should be a great way to engage with the public about my research which examines how our lives, particularly at work, are changing us and making it harder for us to live long and healthy lives.’
