The University of Kent is a popular destination for students from all over the world, and has always attracted students from Europe. We have a wonderful cosmopolitan community, generated by a large number of international students, around 40% of them from Europe. In the academic year 2017-18, there were over 2,100 non-UK European students from 44 different European countries.

Entry requirements

At Kent we consider all applications on their individual merit and welcome students with a wide variety of qualifications and experience. Please note that some academic schools may have slightly different entry criteria.

English language requirements

Applicants will also need to meet University of Kent's standard English language requirements, which are set at a level that meets the academic needs of the University.

Undergraduate offer levels

First year entry: Apolytirion or Lise Diploma + 1 or 2 A levels

The University will also consider applicants on an individual basis with 18.5+ in the Public School Apolytirion if the degree programme does not have any specific A level subject requirements.

International Baccalaureate points

Applicants will be asked to either obtain the IB Diploma with 34 points overall, or pass the IB Diploma with a specific number of points in the three Higher Level subjects. In addition, points scores may be required in Higher or Standard subjects including English and Maths.

NCUK International Year One

Kent Business School now accept the NCUK International Year One for entry to Year 2 of many of their undergraduate programmes. For details of NCUK centres in your country, please see the NCUK website.

Postgraduate offer levels

UK degree classification Bachelor degree
UK upper second (2:1) 3.4 out of 4.0 or 7.0 out of 10
UK lower second (2:2) 2.8 out of 4.0 or 6.5 out of 10

Some, but not all, postgraduate programmes require your undergraduate degree to have a related major. Some postgraduate programmes may require work experience in a relevant field or at a certain level.

If you would like to pursue a PhD at Kent, you should visit the relevant department website and our find a supervisor page to identify potential supervisors for your research and thesis. You are encouraged to then make direct contact with the appropriate academic to discuss your research proposal.
