Research interests

Dr. Bonomelli’s research interests revolve around the political and institutional history of the Late Middle Ages and encompass the religious turmoil of the Early Modern Period. A significant part of his research involves the critical edition of Latin primary sources from European repositories.

His current research project is funded by the British Academy “Newton International Fellowship” scheme and is entitled "Dynamics of conflict. Original perspectives on religious turmoil in Late Medieval and Early Modern Europe (1378-1603)". This project intends to frame the ways in which religious dissent fostered multifaceted dynamics of conflict in Europe between the 14th and the 16th century.
