Graduation Photography

Professional photography at our graduation ceremonies is organised by Tempest Photography

Capturing Your Milestone Moments

On your graduation ceremony day, you will have the chance to have professional graduation photos taken by the specialists at Tempest Photography.

You will have the option to take both individual and group photos with your guests. 

Photography will take place in Shirley Hall, the same location where you will collect your gown and tickets. 

Please check through our information guides for more information, including photography opening times on your graduation day. 

Please note that photography will not be available after the 19.30 ceremonies.

Photography Packages

After your professional photographs have been taken, the photography team will provide you with a reference number, which you will need to purchase your images.

Photograph packages can be purchased on the day of your graduation ceremony. If you choose to order after the event, please visit the Tempest Photography website and use your reference number to place your order.

Handshake Photos

On the day of your graduation, Tempest Photography will take a professional photo of your handshake.

Please note, handshake photographs are captured as the moment happens. To ensure the ceremony runs smoothly, the photographer will not pause or interrupt your moment on stage to retake photographs.  

You will be able to view and purchase your handshake photos after your ceremony in the Corn Exchange (Rochester) or the Marquee at Shirley Hall (Canterbury).

These photos can also be found online after your graduation. When on the website, please search for Kent University and then choose the date and time of your ceremony.

As a University, we have photographers roaming around on graduation days to capture everlasting memories. This team are identifiable by their blue Kent t-shirts.

Do you wish not to be photographed?

If you wish to not be photographed on the day of your graduation, please let the Graduations Team aware by contacting them below.


For handshake photos, please include your name and student ID number, and then we will inform Tempest Photography so your photo will not appear online.


For photos from our Flickr albums, once the photos are made live, please contact us with the name of the album that the photo is within and the name of the photo. We will then have this photo removed for you.
