To the south of campus, you will find evidence of what used to be an old orchard. Kent is traditionally known as The Garden of England because of its abundance of orchards and it still remains the county of orchards and hops gardens.
There are a few fruiting trees that can still be found and harvested at the right time of year but many of the original trees are now gone. It is the ambition of the Landscape and Grounds team to reintroduce fruiting standards in this area.
