Dr Mike Green

Mike Green is a Senior Lecturer in Digital Media. He completed his PhD in the field of Digital Arts in 2017 and is currently Director of Education of the School of Engineering, Mathematics and Physics, having previously been Director of Studies for design-focused courses. In addition, he has worked as a freelance graphic and web designer. Mike is a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA), a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and also a member of the Scientific Committee for the International Conference on Education and New Developments.  

Mike’s research interests are grounded in the field of Human-Computer Interaction and an exploration of contemporary digital landscapes. He is particularly interested in online disclosure and identity in an increasingly interconnected world.

Recently, his research has focused on design pedagogy within a higher education context, with a strong emphasis on assessment and feedback methodologies to enhance learning and the student experience.  

Mike teaches a range of modules related to digital media, with particular focus on design thinking, digital content creation, as well as the societal and cultural impact of technological and design developments. He also supervises student projects.
