Applying to Kent in Clearing is really simple. If you need any help you can call the Clearing Hotline and we'll talk you through it.
You can check the status of your offers on results day (15 August 2024) by signing in to your UCAS Hub.
If you're eligible for Clearing, your application status will read 'You are in Clearing' and a unique Clearing ID number will show on your account.
(If your application hasn’t been updated, you can always contact the university directly to confirm the status of your offer.)
You'll need to contact all the universities you're interested in directly to discuss your options. At Kent we make it easy by asking you to complete a short online form which you'll find on each course page. We'll get in touch to discuss your application or make you an offer.
Once you have your offer you can then make your final decision using UCAS Hub (if you previously applied through UCAS).
You can also use UCAS Clearing Plus by going to the 'My matches' option in UCAS Hub and selecting the 'I'm interested button' for the courses you're interested in.
If you have an unconditional offer:
All you need to do is:
You’ll need the UCAS code for your course, which you’ll find at the top of your course page in our course listings, and our institution ID, which is K24.
If you have an unconditional firm offer:
Just log into your UCAS Hub and add Kent as your Clearing choice. You’ll need the UCAS code for your course, which you’ll find at the top of your course page in our course listings, and our institution ID, which is K24.
If you have any questions, just give our friendly Clearing team a call on +44 (0)1227 768896 and they’ll be happy to help.
Kent's Institution ID is K24
Just log into your Kent applicant portal, and accept our offer there. Kent will notify UCAS on your behalf, you won’t need to do anything further.
Sending proof of qualifications
UCAS sends us results for most types of qualifications as soon as they're available, so you won't normally need to send us any proof if you previously applied through UCAS. We will eventually need to see your exam certificates.
We'll tell you if you do need to send us your results because you applied to us directly or UCAS can't send them to us.
Kent takes the pressure off finding a room in Clearing. We'll ask you if you want accommodation as part of your application. If you do, our accommodation team will get in touch with advice about the best option for you.
If you've already applied for your student loan and you applied through Clearing, you need to update your details to show your new first choice university. You simply log into your account and go to Your Account > Change your application > University/college course to update your details. Student Finance England will re-assess your application and let you know if there are any changes.
If you haven't applied for a student loan yet, apply as soon as you can through Student Finance England. You should get at least some of your loan as close to the start of your course as possible.
If you are new to Higher Education and starting in Stage 1 at the University of Kent in September 2024 you may be eligible for the Kent Financial Support Package.
You can update your details and apply for student finance through your local government or education authority.
We understand that the rising costs of living are having an impact on everyone, and you may be wondering whether university is affordable. At Kent, we want you to feel happy, healthy, and able to focus on your studies. We know you can’t do that if you’re worrying about money.
Congratulations, you're all set! You can relax and look forward to joining our world.
