Examples of the Kent typefaces

The approved University type families are Century Schoolbook and Arial MT. These should be used for ALL communications including letters and emails ( instructions below for setting Arial as your default font in Word and Outlook).

  • Century Schoolbook is used for main headings, standfirsts, introductory copy and quotations.
  • Arial MT Bold is used for subheadings. Arial MT Bold may also be used for headings and sub-headings within tables, charts and diagrams, though sparingly.
  • Arial MT Light is used for body copy, text within tables, charts and diagrams.
  • Where Century Schoolbook and Arial MT are unavailable (eg within Word), use 'Century' and 'Arial'.

Set default Kent fonts for Word and Outlook

The default font for Word and Outlook is Calibri. This should be set to Arial. This is easily done by following these instructions: Word | Outlook
