The University's Equality and Diversity Team provides advice and support to both students and staff. Our objectives include:
- mainstreaming Equality and Diversity practices into all planning processes and functions of the University
- promoting best practice in Equality and Diversity
- the development and support the implementation of policies and procedures that promote Equality and Diversity
- working closely with departments and services that support staff and students
- supporting staff and students with key projects and initiatives that promote Equality and Diversity
- training and briefing key staff on equality and diversity areas
- ensuring the University meets and exceeds its legislative requirement

Current Issues of Equality and Diversity in Higher Education
David Ruebain Chief Executive of the Equality Challenge Unit recently attended Manager's Forum where his presentation 'Current Issues of E&D in Higher Education' was very well received and is providing a platform for extremely valuable discussion about how various parts of the University take forwards work on equality and diversity both with regards to staff and students.
