Campus Shuttle

The University of Kent has introduced a coach service which will operate between the campuses at Medway and Canterbury, for the academic year 2012/13.

The coach service will continue to operate between the two campus sites for Term 3 (6th May - 14th June) and also for the following academic year 2013/14.

The contract for academic year 2012/13 has been awarded to Kings Ferry.

The company is renowned for its ability to provide the very best luxury coach hire service while adhering to Duty of Care legislation.

You are reminded that this is a trial and if required the University of Kent can make changes to ensure that the service operates efficiently.

Users

The service is free and only available to all University of Kent staff and students (including Kent Union). You must make sure you have a valid KentOne Card (ID card). When using this service you will automatically agree to the Campus Shuttle Terms and Conditions.

Booking a seat

  1. Pre-book your seat using the online booking service. This will guarantee you have a seat on the coach. After clicking the link to the booking service you will be asked to provide your University user name and password in order to confirm your status as a member of staff or student. You will then be re-directed to the booking service on the Kings Ferry web site. You will need to register an account with Kings Ferry. Please do not use your University of Kent password for this purpose. Go to the online booking service
  2. Once booked you will be emailed an e-ticket.
  3. Give your printed e-ticket to the driver and show your KentOne card when boarding the coach.

Users should be able to use the service by turning up at the departure time, providing there is capacity available on the coach. If you decide not to pre-book and use this method you will be asked to present your KentOne Card and complete a form. The driver has the right to refuse you boarding if there is not sufficient seating available.
