It can be tempting to ‘save time’ by sending off the same cover letter with every application, but the reality is that employers won’t give these generic applications a second glance.
To really stand out from the crowd, you need a cover letter that sells your motivation, skills and experience in a way that is tailored to each role and organisation. In this interactive group session, you’ll practise drafting a bespoke cover letter with support from a Careers and Employability Service Adviser.
You will:
- Compare example cover letters and identify best practices and things to avoid.
- Explore ways to show genuine enthusiasm and interest in an employer.
- Practise writing about your skills and experience in relation to a person specification.
Please note that there will not be time in this session to do individual cover letter reviews with an Adviser. For a review of your cover letter, please book a Quick Advice appointment.
