Following on from our Belonging & Beyond online roundtable, we will be running an exciting in-person event during Welcome Week. Our Vice Chancellor, Georgina Randsley de Moura, will introduce the first hour where you can hear from REMP (Racially and Ethnically Minoritised) and international academics about their own journeys through academia, and students will talk about how a day at university looks for them as well as things they wish they had known from the start. The second hour will be an opportunity to network with fellow staff and students, form connections in our games and crafts rooms, and to learn about EDI work taking place across university support teams. The contributors have been selected to ensure a high proportion of REMP staff and students to better speak to the potential experiences of our ethnically marginalised students. However, we believe all students can benefit from this session and are welcome to attend. This event takes place in-person on Wednesday 1st October at 3-5pm. Location: Sibson LT3 followed by the Sibson Atrium.
Make sure you prioritise academic events during Welcome Week so you're fully prepared to start or continue your studies.
