Zines are DIY self-published documents, often in the form of photocopied booklets which are shared freely or sold very cheaply, sitting outside traditional methods of publishing. Come explore alternative art, histories, and activism through the Queer Zine Library, as well as in examples of zines and DIY publishing from the University of Kent’s own Special Collections.
The short introduction to the Queer Zine Library collection in person will be followed by an interactive zine making workshop where attendees can create their own personal zines.
This workshop is for anyone who wants to carve out space to create and feel inspired. If you don’t feel like making a zine, join us to browse and discuss zines. No skills or experience necessary, all materials provided.
