As a large School we can offer a wide range of modules and this gives you a broad base in the social sciences while allowing you to specialise in areas you’re interested in. Our courses reflect current issues and debates and our graduates also gain many transferable skills that are valuable in the workplace.

Study abroad: Many of our courses give you the chance to study abroad. There is also the option to extend your skills by spending an extra year studying web technologies or data analytics.

Quantitative research: If you are taking Sociology or Criminology, you may also have the chance to extend your skills by adding quantitative research to your degree by studying in our prestigious Q-Step Centre.

1st for research quality: Sociology, Criminology and Social Work are each ranked 1st for research quality in the The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2021. And Social Policy at Kent is ranked 3rd for research quality in The Complete University Guide 2021
