Leanne Taylor qualified as a social worker in the mid-1990s and worked for Kent County Council as a mental health social worker and an approved social worker until the late 2000s. She maintains her status as a registered social worker.
Leanne studied law as an undergraduate at Kent Law School and gained an LLB in 2007-10. She has since completed a PGDip in Legal Practice.
On joining the School of Social Policy, Sociology and Social Research in 2010, Leanne initially participated on the undergraduate introduction to law module. She now runs workshops on BA and MA social work modules in areas relating to the law and child protection, mental capacity, mental health and adult social care. She also gives workshops on matters relating to social work practice in mental health services.
Leanne convenes modules on law for the BA, Degree Apprenticeship, MA, and Step UP Social Work programmes. She also runs workshops around mental health, adult social care and child protection at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
