- Oliver Herdson
Oliver Herdson is a Lecturer in Cognition in the School of Psychology. He has recently submitted his PhD and is expected to graduate from the University of Kent by the end of 2025. His dissertation focused on the behavioural, emotional, and educational factors underlying student wellbeing. Oliver completed his undergraduate, MSc-R, and PhD here at Kent and has focused his attention on improving the understanding of student wellbeing and mental health.
Oliver's research interests are centred on the understanding of depression (and wellbeing) in university students through behavioural, emotional, cognitive, and educational mechanisms. In particular, Oliver is currently working on establishing a model of student wellbeing through the use of latent profile analysis - aiming to establish a comprehensive foundation for implementing effective interventions within higher education.
