The School of Psychology at Kent is excited to offer Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) Scholarships in Psychology for September 2025, designed to support graduate students who are keen to enhance their teaching experience while pursuing advanced studies.
About the School:
?The School of Psychology comprises over 50 academic staff members dedicated to advancing the understanding of human behaviour through comprehensive research and teaching. In addition to faculty, the school supports approximately 80 PhD students and a diverse range of externally funded research projects, all assisted by an experienced Professional and Technical Services team. This collaborative environment fosters a dynamic community dedicated to both teaching and cutting-edge psychological research. About the Scholarship: As a GTA in the School of Psychology, you will have the opportunity to assist in delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to undergraduate students. You will be involved in a variety of academic activities, including leading seminars, supporting lab-based sessions, and providing academic guidance to students. This is an excellent opportunity for those looking to develop their teaching skills and contribute to the next generation of psychologists.
Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTAs) receive a stipend that combines a salary element and a maintenance grant, which combined will be to the value of £20,780 for 2025/26, paid in monthly installments. This amount is in line with the Research Councils UK National Minimum Doctoral Stipend for the 2025/26 academic year. Additionally, GTAs are provided with fee-paid teacher training through the Associate Fellowship Scheme, further enhancing candidates’ professional development.
