We have established formal relationships with over 45 non-selective secondary schools and three local FE colleges in Kent.
The University has close relationships with a group of partner schools (with whom we have formal partnership agreements) and members of the Kent and Medway Progression Federation (KMPF). The University is the lead institution for the Kent and Medway Collaborative Outreach Programme (KaMCOP) which is part of the national Uni Connect programme, funded through the Office for Students.
Our partnerships are at the heart of the University’s work with schools. Working closely with target secondary schools, we aim to give your students a better understanding of the benefits of higher education and to support their attainment and progression through engagement with our curriculum.
The University’s outreach curriculum is a sustained and progressive programme of events and activities which are designed for specific year groups from year 7 to year 13. We aim to support learners throughout their secondary school careers so that they are able to make informed choices about post 16 education and university study. We also support teachers and parents.
The University of Kent has formal partnerships with three local FE Colleges, the EKC Group (incorporating Canterbury and Ashford Colleges), Mid Kent College and North Kent College (including West Kent College).
There are two main elements to the University’s partnerships with FE Colleges. Over 150 students in the three partner colleges are studying on university level programmes which are franchised and validated by the University of Kent.
In addition, the University also delivers a programme of bespoke progression activities to FE and Access students studying in local colleges. These include tailored information talks and workshops, subject specific events and activities and a two day campus residential which aim to raise aspiration and support attainment. The University also offers activities within the colleges as part of the KaMCOP (Uni Connect programme).

We can arrange day visits to our Canterbury and Medway campuses for students in years 12-13.
It's an excellent opportunity for your students to see a university campus. They can discover what types of facilities are available, and the visit can include a guided tour with our current students and a bespoke itinerary.
