Dr Scott Wildman from Kent’s Centre for Higher and Degree Apprenticeships has received a Highly Commended Award for Apprentice Champion of the Year at the South East National Apprenticeship Awards.

The National Apprenticeship Awards are the largest and most prestigious celebration of apprentices and apprentice employers in the UK, organised by the National Apprenticeship Service and Education Skills Funding Agency.

Being nominated for Apprentice Champion of the Year is a huge achievement for both Dr Wildman (second from left, above) and the University, as this award recognises individuals who go the extra mile in their role supporting apprentices.

A Kent Higher Apprentice, Alisha Fordham (third from right, above), an apprentice at Pfizer Limited studying for a Foundation Degree in Applied Chemical Sciences won Regional Higher and Degree Apprenticeship of the Year and will now move to the National Finals to be judged later this year.

Another Kent apprentice, Georgia Creswell, a degree apprentice on the BSc (Hons) in Applied Bioscience working at MedImmune, Cambridge has won a regional final (East of England) and will also move to the national finals.

These awards ‘showcase the diverse range of sectors engaged with apprenticeships and celebrate outstanding apprentices, employers and those individuals who go above and beyond to champion apprenticeships’. The benefits of apprenticeships are celebrated by everyone involved during these awards.
