William's research interests include Environmental Law, particularly laws relating to the conservation of the aquatic environment and ecosystems. He previously worked on several projects funded by international organisations, national governments and environmental bodies.

Undergraduate and postgraduate Environmental Law.


William is happy to supervise projects looking at International, European Union and National Environmental Law, particularly in areas concerned with the Aquatic Environment or Ecological Conservation.

Member of the Legal Advisory Committee to Fish Legal. Member ESRC Research Assesment Panel and AHRC Peer Review College. Fellow of Royal Society of Arts and Institute of Water and Management. Honorary Legal Advisor to Institute of Fisheries Management. He has acted in an advisory or consultancy role for various government departments and public bodies.


Co-convenor of LLM programmes in Environmental Law and Policy, and International Environmental Law.
