- Dr Mwangi Wanjiru
Dr Mwangi a Barrister (N/P Inner Temple) holds a PhD in International Law from Sussex University. Before coming to Kent, Mwangi was a visiting lecturer of constitutional and administrative law at City University London. Previously and parallel to Law, Mwangi worked in project management and in safeguarding both internationally and in the UK.
At Kent Law School, Mwangi is a convenor in Intellectual Property Law modules; Contemporary Topics in Intellectual Property Law (PG), Copyrights and Breach of confidence (PG) and Patents, Brands and Innovations(UG). Mwangi has also taught Public & EU law (UG) and Tort (UG).
His expertise is in Intellectual Property Law, and International Law as widely conceived. Mwangi’s current research interests are in IPRs and global governance, as well as the interaction between IEL and conflicts. Mwangi’s research is multi-disciplinary and varied in approach including the use of Art in Legal Research & Pedagogy. Dr Mwangi also Interrogates the interaction between the law and the Black citizen.
