Prepare for Law as an undergraduate applicant to Kent

Kent Law School has launched an exciting new series of preparatory activities exclusively for undergraduate applicants to the University of Kent.

Prepare for Law will give incoming law students confidence in succeeding in their future studies, will help them secure a place at Kent, and will provide a supportive bridge to university level study at time of educational turbulence for many incoming students. The series includes:

  • Activities which demonstrate the relevance of law to everyday life
  • Sessions delivered by current students and recent graduates about how to think like a law student, including skills and techniques which have helped them both as students and in their careers
  • Current students reflecting on their studies and how they felt as they made the transition from school or college
  • A commitment to accept applicants who engage with Prepare for Law and accept Kent as their Firm choice at two grades (to a maximum of 16 UCAS points) below the offer they have been made, or to take engagement into consideration at results time (see below for further information)

Prepare for Law builds upon Kent Law School’s reputation as a highly ranked and regarded critical law school, with modules that bring law to life by addressing the people and planet dilemmas that define our times, and a community which values its students, supports them to succeed, and prepares them for successful careers.

Prepare for Law is available to all undergraduate applicants who are made an offer to study a degree programme in Law at the University of Kent. Information about how to access the sessions and activities will be sent directly to offer holders.

All qualifications which attract UCAS points are included in our commitment to accept students at two grades (to a maximum of 16 UCAS points) below the offer they have been made, should they engage with Prepare for Law and accept an offer to study Law at Kent as their Firm choice. Where a qualification doesn’t attract UCAS points, participation in the Prepare for Law programme will be taken into consideration if the conditions of the offer are narrowly missed.
