Choose between:

Professional Placement or Internship

Apply your learning in a real business environment. This module gives you the opportunity to work in a professional setting for a minimum of six weeks - gaining valuable industry insight, building your CV, and making professional connections. From the start of your course, you’ll receive expert support from our careers and employability team to help you secure the right role.

Or one of the following:

Business Challenge

Step into the role of a consultant and work with a local business to solve a real organisational challenge. You’ll pitch ideas, present solutions, and deliver a professional consultancy report - developing strategic thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills along the way.

There’s no traditional dissertation. Instead, you’ll be assessed through a group presentation, an individual consultancy report, and a personal reflection.

You’ll tackle one of the following challenges, applying your knowledge to a real-world problem relevant to your degree.

  • The Business Analytics Challenge
  • The Logistics and Supply Chain Challenge
  • ·Strategic Project Management Challenge
  • The Marketing Challenge
  • The International Business and Management Challenge

Global Opportunities for Future Leaders

MSc International Business and Management students can also choose the Global Opportunities for Future Leaders module - designed to support your international ambitions. You'll have the chance to study abroad at a partner institution or gain hands-on experience working with an NGO or charity, expanding your global perspective and developing key leadership skills.

Finance Project

Students on our Finance programmes do not take the Business Challenge. Instead, you'll choose the Finance Project module, which is specifically designed to prepare you for a career in finance.

Under the guidance of a subject specialist, you'll strengthen your data-driven decision-making and written communication skills while applying your knowledge to real-world financial scenarios.

Applications and Future Directions in Healthcare

MSc Global Healthcare Management students have the option to take the Applications and Future Directions in Healthcare module instead of the Business Challenge. This specialist module is designed to prepare you for a career in healthcare by developing your data-driven decision-making and written communication skills, supported by expert guidance.

No matter which option you take, you’ll tackle real business challenges for real clients - gaining experience, growing your connections, and standing out to employers.
