Social Media and the Future of Transportation: A Big Data Analytics Approach to Optimise the Transition Towards Smart Cities
Zsofia's PhD Research and its associated analyses intend to explore thorough details about priorities, driving forces and econometrics in the process of transitioning towards what we call the future of transportation that could be mined from Social Media. The uniqueness of this research is that opposed to survey studies - which have limited respondents as well as guided questions-, gathering information from social media (e.g. websites, blogs, microblogs, YouTube etc.) people can freely express their opinions on various aspects that are related to Electric- and Autonomous Vehicles (EVs and AVs). Further, based on these Social Media Mining findings - regarding people readiness and willingness to adopt AVs-, the research will consist of Big Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Optimization and finally Simulation models to provide optimal scenarios for this transformation of urban smart cities for the next decades to come.
