Level 7 Senior Leader (MA in Business and Management)

Our new Level 7 Senior Leader (MA) apprenticeship has been designed to offer first-class teaching to executives and future leaders in central London.

The Level 7 Senior Leader Higher Degree Apprenticeship has been designed for executives and future leaders of business who seek to develop to the knowledge, skills and strategic mindset that are required for senior leadership roles in a digital world.  

Underpinned by the MA in Business and Management, this Master’s level apprenticeship will enable learners to become more highly specialised in strategic thinking and leadership in a digital environment. 

A unique and significant element of this course will consist of workplace projects, designed to add value to both the individual and their organisations through a combination of self-development, mentorship and tuition. Through a combination of taught and independent learning it will require learners to undertake a research project which benefits either an employer or another organisation. 

Qualification   

This apprenticeship follows the Level 7 Senior Leader Degree Apprenticeship Standard. On successful completion of the apprenticeship, learners will gain a MA in Business and Management. 

Duration and commitment   

The duration of the apprenticeship will be 18 months with an additional three months to complete the End-point assessment.   

Our Senior Leader MA apprenticeship will be delivered in central London and bring together leaders from different industries, ensuring that there is opportunity for peer-to-peer learning. 

The delivery of this programme will through block face-to-face teaching sessions at our Marble Arch location. This location offers good transport links, spacious teaching and independent learning spaces and access to local amenities. Face-to-face teaching is supported by online learning throughout the year and meetings with a dedicated Apprenticeship Advisor every 8-12 weeks.  

Entry requirements   

Apprentices enrolling on this programme are expected to have a good honours degree from the UK or an equivalent internationally recognised qualification. In addition, applicants are required to have a minimum of three years of full-time relevant managerial work experience. Applicants who do not hold an honours degree can still be considered on a case-by-case basis. Apprentices also need to hold a GCSE in English and Maths at grade 4 (C grade) or work towards this alongside the apprenticeship.

Fees and funding   

The maximum funding for this apprenticeship is £14,000, which can be covered by the Apprenticeship Levy or by government co-investment.  

There is also a commercial top-up fee to be paid by the employer of £500, which allows the apprentice to achieve an MA alongside their apprenticeship.

  • provide apprentices with a course of academic study in business management (20% of an apprentice’s paid hours to be spent completing off-the-job training) 
  • provide apprentices with one-to-one support, self-directed learning activities and assignments, block teaching sessions and other activities to enhance the learning experience 
  • offer apprentices the opportunity to gain an MA degree on top of their apprenticeship  
  • support employers with timely registration of apprentices and regular monitoring and reporting of apprentices’ progress and performance.
