Charter & Code of Conduct

Campus Security is responsible for creating, developing, providing and maintaining a professional, effective, helpful and friendly security service able to keep everyone safe within our University community (students, staff and visitors).  To reduce crime, anti-social behaviour and harm to students, staff and visitors on campus. To uphold good order on campus and encourage compliance with the University's regulations including traffic and parking. To create an environment where those on campus feel safe, secure and supported in their activities.

The University of Kent has a Student Charter which can be found here and to compliment this, Campus Security have created our own Charter here. This was created in consultation with a number of interested parties informing the current version.

The Code of Conduct here is an amalgam into one easy reference document of various legal responsibilities, current contractual duties, University policies and procedures and Campus Security protocols that already apply to Campus Security. This is not meant to be the totality of absolutely every last thing that applies to Campus Security staff but a guide to key expectations which can easily be followed.

If you have any compliments, concerns or complaints about Campus Security you can contact Estates Customer Services via email on estatescustomerservices@kent.ac.uk or by telephone on 01227 823370 Monday to Friday 08:30 to 17:00.

If you wish to report any security concerns or suspicious behaviour, please contact or Campus Security on 01227 823300. If you are in an emergency you can call the emergency services on 999 and/or Campus Security on 01227 823333.
