Learning and Teaching - the Labyrinth
Kent is, we believe, the first university in the world to introduce a labyrinth as a teaching and learning resource across the disciplines. The Canterbury Labyrinth, launched by the Vice Chancellor in 2008, provides an opportunity for a reflective, meditative walk for everyone, and is open 24/7 (except when events are booked) as part of the University’s Creative Campus Initiative. The Labyrinth is wheelchair accessible and is a few minutes’ walk down the footpath – and the cycle path, the Crab and Winkle Way – below Eliot College. Four nearby benches, each inscribed with a finger labyrinth, provide a quiet, contemplative space. To find out more about approaches to labyrinth walking.
