Key information
See what happened. Predict what’s next. Decide what to do.
Data is only useful if you know what to do with it.
At Kent, you’ll learn how to turn complex information into insight – and insight into better business decisions. Build your skills in quantitative methods, programming and data analysis, then use them to understand problems, compare options and recommend what happens next.
As you progress, you’ll work with big data, machine learning, predictive analytics, visualisation and AI, before exploring techniques such as prescriptive analytics and simulation modelling. You’ll learn not only how to spot patterns in data, but how to use them to improve strategy, efficiency and performance.
And because good analytics starts with the right business question, you’ll also develop your understanding of economics, finance, strategy and how organisations operate. Through practical problems and real-world cases, you’ll build the commercial judgement to communicate what the data means – and help others act on it.
By graduation, you’ll have the analytical, technical and professional skills to help organisations make smarter decisions in areas ranging from strategy and operations to finance, risk and change.
The Foundation Year aims to extend access to university education to students from a wide variety of educational backgrounds and age groups and prepares these students for our three or four-year degrees.
After successful completion of the foundation year, you can transfer on to the three or four-year Business and Management programmes. Please refer to the BSc Business Analytics and Management, BSc Business Analytics and Management with a Year Abroad or BSc Business Analytics and Management with a Year in Industry programme for more information about specific modules.
