Sofia Eleni Christodoulou graduated from Kent with a GDip in Management in 2016. She is currently a Senior Operations Analyst and Data Steward at Liberty Specialty Markets. 

Sofia credits her Mathematics degree for developing her analytical and technical skills, essential for her current position. 

 
What does a typical work day look like for you?

A few meetings with different teams and consultants, reports reviews and delegation to the team, resolving queries and occasionally data administration.

Can you share a professional highlight from your career so far?

Getting recognition from colleagues for my contribution and work ethic.

How did your time at Kent help you achieve your current career?

I met great people and developed skills needed to succeed. A degree in Mathematics helped me developed a very analytical way of thinking, and I became very technical, both very necessary for my role.

What advice would you give to our current/prospective students who are looking to get into the same line of work?

A degree is not essential. However a Maths degree will help you develop the necessary skills to get ahead. Plus you will meet lifetime friends from all over the world.

Did you get involved in any extracurricular activities as a student?

Yes. Swimming, Maths School, Nepali, Course Rep.

Do you have a favourite memory from your time at Kent?

Getting caught eating pizza with my friends during finals in the library basement while it wasn't allowed at the time.

Is there anything you would do differently if you could repeat your time at Kent?

Less drama, more focus and fun.

Yes!

What are your future ambitions?

Retirement.
