Introduction
Kent is called the UK’s European University and The School of European Culture and Languages stands exactly where the Channel disappears. The School conducts research in all aspects of European cultural life, including language, literature and film, and also in Philosophy, Theology and Religious Studies, Classics and Archaeology. Much of this research is interdisciplinary and much of it is conducted in collaboration with partners in Europe and further afield. The School offers a wide range of teaching in all of these areas, both at undergraduate level and postgraduate, with provision for time abroad; be that for refining linguistic skills, picking up additional qualifications, excavating ancient ruins or simply experiencing different ways of life.
