Autism and Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities

These programmes and short courses are designed to deliver the knowledge and skills required for carers to support people with autism and learning disabilities in a range of different situations.

 

The BSc Autism Studies is designed specifically for carers who provide home, community and school-based services to people with autism. It combines intensive workshop teaching, web-based study and work-based learning and is available at Foundation, Certificate and BSc level.

Postgraduate programmes offer advanced professional development and can be completed full-time or part-time and can be by distance learning or campus based.

Tizard Centre

Our programmes in learning disability have been developed and are taught by Tizard Centre staff. The Centre, which is at the forefront of learning and research in autism, intellectual disability and community care, provides short courses, degree and diploma programmes and also undertakes consultancy and research.
