Functionality

Microsoft Teams is a shared space for conversations around topics. It offers chat, virtual meetings, file storage and collaboration on documents. Teams allows staff and students to communicate and share ideas easily. Teams can contain people at Kent or outside the University.

Help & how to get started

​How to access the Teams web app:

  • Log into office.com using a web browser - enter username as username@kent.ac.uk (example: abc1@kent.ac.uk)
  • Choose the Teams app and use it in your web browser
  • Or head straight to the Teams page and sign in

Download the Teams app:
  • Download the Windows or Mac version from the web app (the download link in the bottom left corner)
  • Download a mobile/tablet version from the App Store (iOS) or the Google Play store (Android)

Terms of use, copyright and licensing

​The University's licence lets staff and students use the Microsoft 365 suite for work and study for the duration of your time at Kent. The licence expires when you leave the University.

Data Privacy

The University of Kent uses Google Analytics to track how our Software Finder tool is being used. We do not share this data with any third parties.

While we recommend various software tools that may be helpful for both students and staff, it's important for individuals to review the Terms and Conditions of any software they choose to install, especially regarding how it may affect their privacy and personal data.
