Omi Mehmi

Omi joined the University of Kent in 2018 as Practice Education Manager, Social Work, at the Medway campus. Prior to this he was a Social Care Discharge Coordinator and managed social care staff within an acute hospital setting. His previous social work experience includes being a Senior Practitioner within an Adult Community Team. He has also worked within secondary mental health services and a long term children and families team. 

Omi qualified as a social worker at Mid Kent College in 2002. He completed his Post Qualifying Award and Practice Teachers Award in 2009 and Kent Manager Award in 2017. 

Omi convenes and teaches modules on social work programmes.
