About

Dr Edward Mundy is a Lecturer in Psychology with a Clinical Focus and a qualified Clinical Psychologist. Edward teaches across the School of Psychology's clinical teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. In addition to his work at the University of Kent, Edward works clinically in NHS adult mental health services as a Senior Clinical Psychologist.

Edward has worked predominantly within specialist mental health services in the NHS for adults experiencing complex mental health problems, including Community Mental Health Teams, Early Intervention for Psychosis, and acute services (inpatient and Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Teams). Edward has undertaken post qualification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (University of Oxford), EMDR, and Metallisation Based Therapy (Anna Freud Centre). 

Research interests

Edward's research interests spans adult mental health, with an emphasis on improving and developing mental health services, working with complex presentations, and the psychological health of gay, bisexual, and men who have sex with men, including sexualised drug use and chemsex.

Prior to starting his clinical training, Edward worked on an NIHR funded project developing a model of best practice for crisis teams, which was published in the British Journal of Psychiatry.
