Administrative excellence across the University has been recognised with the presentation of the first awards for outstanding work.

The Administration Excellence Awards were launched this year to recognise and reward outstanding individual or team working within Faculty and School administration.

Joint winners were Kent Business School’s Postgraduate Admissions team and the whole School of Arts’ administration team.

Kent’s Administration Excellence Awards are part of the Excellence Initiative, which was launched in 2012. The Initiative aims to encourage and share good practice across different Schools and Faculties, and to celebrate and enhance the service delivered by administrative staff to students, academics and other professional colleagues.

Results of the first awards were announced by Academic Registrar Jon Pink at a ceremony for all those who entered. He praised the winning teams’ approach to enhancement and for demonstrating an improvement in services to student and personal development among their staff.

He said: ‘Excellent administration lies at the heart of many of Kent’s outstanding achievements, including our high placement in national league tables. These awards are a wonderful way of underlining the importance of our administration teams and celebrating their continuing hard work and commitment to the University.’

He added that the plan next year is to open the Administration Excellence Awards to all teams within the Academic Division.
