Kent alumni narrowly miss out on University Challenge final

A team of University alumni narrowly missed out on making it through to the 2016 Christmas University Challenge final over the festive season.

The Kent team, including presenter Paul Ross and journalist Shiulie Ghosh, lost out to a University of Leeds team, including journalist Kamal Ahmed and political cartoonist Steve Bell, following a tie-break question in the semi-final.

The Kent team had achieved the highest winning score earlier in the series to reach the semi-final. The  team comprised: Paul Ross (captain), graduated in English in 1975; Shiulie Ghosh, Law 1986; Jamie Angus, IT 1974; Jeremy Wade, Honorary Graduate 2016.

The final was won by St Hilda’s College, University of Oxford.
